The newest member of my guitar family has arrived today. It's an absolutely breathtaking guitar. Pictures don't do it justice. It's also much lighter then it looks. (which is typical of most flying V style guitars.) Unfortunately, she is so long that it will not fit on my wall with the way my hangers are arranged currently. I'm going to have to order a new hanger and place it somewhere else, so until then she'll have to stay in her case. Speaking of the case, it's probably the nicest case I've had for a guitar so far; (yes, even the Parker) It's definitely the biggest and heaviest.
After playing with it for a few hours, I've learned that flying v's are indeed difficult to hold when sitting down. But, it's not to hard to figure out a comfortable way to hold it. The guitar arrived setup pretty well, aside from some tuning and action adjustments I had to make. The highlight of the guitar (aside from the awesome graphics) would have to be the pickups. The Dave Mustaine Duncan Live Wire Pickups sound great and are well suited for his style of music. When I'm in the mood to play some heavier stuff I'll be reaching for this guitar. Yes, I think Calliope shall see some good use in the coming years.

The album's artwork was created by longtime Megadeth artist Ed Repka. It shows band mascot Vic Rattlehead and the leaders of the five major world powers (at the time) attending a secret meeting in Hangar 18, with Vic in the foreground presiding over the body of an alien.
The world leaders, from left to right, are former British Prime Minister John Major, former Japanese Prime Minister Toshiki Kaifu, former German President Richard von Weizsäcker, former Soviet General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev, and former American President George H. W. Bush.
